Some Benefits of Radiant Heat

Efficient – No heating method today is as efficient as radiant heat. Over 99 percent of the energy use translates directly into heat, so there’s virtually no wasted energy. Warmth is transferred through objects to create luxurious warmth.

Maintenance Free and Easy to Customize – Electric floor heating systems are maintenance free, so there’s no need to clean ducts or change filters. The systems can be easily customize to meet the exact layout and heating needs of your home.

Health Benefits – Unknown to most, radiant heat actually offers some health benefits as well as comfort and efficiency. Traditional heating systems use a system of ducts to blow heated air throughout the house. However, this results in dust and allergens being circulated in the home, creating a less than ideal environment for people with allergies or breathing problems. Radiant heat quietly warms the home from the floor up without the use of vents and blowers, no dust or allergens are circulated, making a much more comfortable environment for residents.

Environmentally Friendly – Electric radiant heated floors provide an environmentally clean alternative for warming homes and businesses today.

Superior Warmth – The comfort provided by radiant floor heating systems can’t be beat. The systems provide rich, luxurious warmth from the floor up, producing an especially cozy environment for small children who spend most of their time playing on or near the floor.

Warmzone Floor Heating Systems

Warmzone floor heating systems. ComfortTile – CT heat cable is pre-terminated for use with 120 and 240V and can be purchased on spools or pre-spaced in mats (that heat an area 24-inches wide) that can be rolled out for quick, easy installation. The cable off the spool provides more flexibility in terms of heating tight spaces and custom shaped areas. The mats consist of thin heat cable that is pre-spaced and affixed on a flexible mesh with an adhesive backing so that it can be secured to the subfloor. The ComfortTile system is our most popular and versatile floor heating system. It is effective for heating a various types of flooring, but is particularly suited for tile and stone floors. The floor heating cables are UL/CSA approved and have a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

FilmHeat – Another popular option, FilmHeat, features a heating element that is virtually paper thin (0.16-inch thick). This makes FilmHeat an ideal choice for heating floating floors, such as laminate, wood, LVT, bamboo, etc., because it results in no floor buildup. This system offers one of the best values for heating floors and is typically the most recommended system for warming laminates and floating floors. The FoilHeat heating element is UL, ETL, NEMKO and CE listed and EMC certified for safety. The system carries a 10-year warranty.

In-Slab – Designed to be installed within the concrete slab, In-Slab heat cable is considerably thicker and more rugged than most other types of floor heating cable. The heat cable is embedded about 2-inches below the surface and provides one of the most efficient heating sources available. The In-Slab floor warming system is perhaps the most popular method for heating basement floors, and carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

Prodeso – The Prodeso floor heating membrane system is used in conjunction with ComfortTile heat cable. Prodeso features a ¼-inch thick flexible membrane with pre-engineered channels for the CT heat cable to be installed. This ensures proper cable spacing and speeds up the installation process. It is designed for heating floors without expansion joints in the screed. It can be installed over the entire subfloor as an uncoupling, crack isolating and waterproofing membrane.

FoilHeat – FoilHeat utilizes thin fluoropolymer insulated heating cable sandwiched between two layers of specially reinforced aluminum foil. This system provides an excellent option for heating floating floors without the need for thin-set or mortar. This system is commonly used to heat laminate, engineered wood, glued hardwood and other types of floating floors.

RetroHeat – Designed for heating existing floors, the RetroHeat system uses a variation of the thin FilmHeat heating element. The heating panels are stapled up between the floor joists and batt insulation is then applied over the heating element to ensure that all the heat is directed upward to warm the floor. This is an affordable option for heating existing floors, eliminating the need to do any major remodeling. However, to install RetroHeat one must have access to the floor from below, either through a basement or crawl space.

Low-voltage FloorHeat STEP – This unique low-voltage system features a thin self-regulating, semi-conductive polyethylene heating element (available in rolls 9 and 12-inches wide) that is versatile and durable enough to be used for interior and exterior heating applications. The technologically advanced system can be installed under most floor coverings including carpet, hardwood, ceramic tile, and laminates. Because the flexible heating element is so thin it will not affect the floor buildup or weight loads.

HeatShield – The HeatShield system consists of insulation panels that are laid out (and snapped together) across the subfloor of the room to be heated. The panels consist of ½-inch thick polystyrene insulation covered with thin, specially profiled aluminum. The panels create a barrier between the subfloor and the new floor surface to eliminate energy loss and efficiently reflect the heat upward into the room. Each panel has pre-engineered channels for ComfortTile heat cable to be installed.
